Information about this Event

Join us on a journey into the Sa’id. Exclusively offered in Philadelphia at a private retreat center on 11 secluded acres on the river!

This intensive retreat is the precursor to Sahra’s book on Sa’idi dance. Sahra Saeeda has been researching Sa’idi dance in depth in Egypt since 1993 when she was a performer in Cairo. She has made regular trips to Egypt once or twice a year for her research ever since she moved to the United States. This June she will be traveling to the Sa’id gathering more information as in this in-depth Certification. She will be teaching dancers information that has never formally been taught outside of the Sa’id. This will be the first in a series of JtE-In depth Intensives into folkloric dances of Egypt.
